HURRICANES KATRINA AND RITA 2005
The US Army Corps of Engineers deployed twenty-eight 25HP/50HP units around New Orleans including 17th Street, Citrus Street and Jahnke Street Canals, to help reduce organic and petroleum-based contamination of water being pumped out of the New Orleans area.
The increased oxygen helped avoid fish kills and anoxic dead zones as well as prevent harmful algae blooms.
