Most equipment gets called “smart” because someone added a sensor, a screen, or an app.

That is not what SMART means to us. At PWT, the SMART MACCMOP was built around a different idea: water treatment equipment should do more, demand less, adapt to the site, communicate what is happening, and keep working without becoming another maintenance problem for the people responsible for it.

Smart MACCMOP is a proprietary, multi-axial mechanical oxygenation processor designed to replace multiple single-purpose systems with one integrated platform. Instead of relying on separate equipment for circulation, aeration, mixing, lift, shear, and directional water movement, SmartMACCMOP combines those functions into one rugged system.

That is where SMART begins.

S — Self-Sustaining

Water and wastewater operators already have enough to manage. Equipment should not create another full-time job.

Smart MACCMOPis engineered for continuous operation with minimal intervention, durable components, simplified service access, and a plug-and-play replacement philosophy designed to reduce downtime. The goal is simple: keep the water moving without keeping the operator tied to the machine.

M — Modular

No two ponds, lagoons, treatment basins, industrial sites, or water bodies are exactly alike. Smart MACCMOP was built as a modular platform rather than a one-size-fits-all piece of equipment. Flotation, anchoring, deployment systems, controls, monitoring, discharge configurations, and depth-management options can be matched to the needs of the site.

The same core technology can therefore be configured for very different operating environments without reinventing the entire system.

A — Adaptive

Water conditions change. Operational requirements change. Technology changes.

Smart MACCMOP is designed to evolve with them. Upgradeable controls, monitoring systems, anchoring configurations, draft tubes, and other performance options allow a deployed system to be adapted as operating conditions or treatment objectives change. Infrastructure should not become obsolete simply because the problem evolves.

R — Responsive

One of the biggest costs of equipment failure is not always the repair itself. It is the time between the failure and when someone realizes there is a problem. 

Smart MACCMOPsystems can incorporate cellular connectivity, remote diagnostics, operating data, GPS, vibration and electrical monitoring, remote controls, and visual observation. That creates the opportunity to identify changing equipment conditions before they become an interruption.

In many cases, the objective is for PWT to know a unit needs attention before the customer does. That intelligence supports our broader plug-and-play service model: remove the unit requiring attention, replace it with another unit, and keep the treatment process operating.

T — Turnkey

Technology only creates value if it can be deployed and operated in the real world.

Smart MACCMOP was designed around that reality. Installation, deployment, monitoring, service, replacement, upgrades, and long-term operation can all be incorporated into one operating program.

For municipalities and industrial customers, that means fewer moving parts — both mechanically and administratively. The objective is predictable performance, predictable cost, and far fewer operational headaches.

One Platform. Multiple Jobs.

Traditional water treatment environments often accumulate equipment one problem at a time.

A circulator solves one issue. An aerator solves another. A mixer addresses another. A pump or blower gets added somewhere else.

Eventually, the facility is managing a collection of machines, motors, maintenance schedules, replacement parts, electrical loads, and failure points.

Smart MACCMOP takes a different approach.

Its multi-axial water movement is designed to create oxygenation, circulation, shear, lift, and directional distribution simultaneously, allowing one integrated platform to perform work traditionally assigned to several pieces of equipment.

That consolidation matters. Fewer machines can mean fewer motors, fewer maintenance events, fewer electrical connections, fewer emergency repairs, and fewer systems for operators to manage.

The Machine Is Only Part of the Story

PWT has always believed that selling a piece of equipment and leaving the customer to worry about it is an incomplete solution.

That is why the Smart MACCMOP can be paired with our Lifetime Service & Replacement Program. The model is built around a straightforward principle: If the equipment needs attention, the water should not have to wait.

Rather than accepting extended downtime while a unit is diagnosed and repaired in place, PWT's service model is designed around rapid plug-and-play replacement. The operating unit is exchanged, treatment continues, and the removed machine can be serviced away from the customer's critical process.

Combined with remote monitoring, this shifts maintenance from reactive repair toward proactive equipment management.

Why SMART Matters

Municipalities and industry are being asked to do more with tighter budgets, limited personnel, aging infrastructure, rising energy costs, and increasing environmental expectations. Adding another complicated piece of machinery is not the answer.

The better question is:

Can one system simplify what is already there?
